I cringe to hear people proclaim their love of truth. The truth about what we should do is a relentless nag. The truth about what we are doing wrong is always unflattering. Truth in a court room, in a scientific journal, or in an artwork can look very different, but the importance of a truth is tied to effort needed to discover and promote that truth. If someone has faced that crucible, then they might learn to appreciate truth. People that say that they love truth, don't know what they are saying.
